Katie McMurray

Katie holds an MA in Higher, Adult and Lifelong Education (HALE) from Michigan State University and a BA from Ohio Northern University in communications. She holds graduate certificates in Organization Development and Change from Penn State University and Strengths-Based Coaching from the College of Executive Coaching (CEC). She is a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) certified coach. Katie is currently assistant director of special projects for University Advancement at the University of North Carolina Charlotte, where she has also been a director of major gifts. Previously, she served as the employer developer for Penn State Career Services and director of major gifts for Penn State’s Smeal College of Business. She has spent the past 20 years working in higher education, having also worked in major gift fundraising and alumni relations roles at Michigan State University. Prior to her work in higher education, Katie worked in nonprofit management as the chapter vice president of ABC Las Vegas. She was also co-advisor of Penn State’s Women in Business chapter. Learning about personal well-being in our daily lives gets Katie out of bed in the morning. She derives her joy from learning new and innovative ways to apply positive psychology-based principles to our professional and personal lives. Her top 5 strengths are Activator, Adaptability, Maximizer, Strategic, and WOO.

Dr.Brad Yeckley MBA

Brad is a Penn State alumnus with a BS in human development, an MBA in corporate finance, and a PhD in organization//human resource development. Brad is currently the director of Niner Finances at UNC Charlotte. He has professional experience in personal and business investment planning as a licensed investment adviser. He has received national credentialing, and recognition for his work in financial literacy. Brad was recently named the 2021 Educator of the Year by the Institute for Financial Literacy during the Excellence in Financial Literacy Awards (EIFLE). He currently sits on the North Carolina Council of Economic Education board and is a directorate member of the Higher Education Financial Wellness Alliance.  He was a member of Penn State Emerging Leaders, sat on the Penn State Financial Literacy Advisory Board, and served on the University Staff Advisory Council. Brad believes in fully living a strengths-based life, his top five strengths are: Maximizer, WOO, Positivity, Learner, Includer.
